As of today, there are approximately 2,892 inmates at the Fulton County Jail. According to a report from the ACLU, 515 people have gone unindicted for more than 90 days, 293 people are unable to pay bail, and 242 are being jailed for misdemeanors. There are also 105 who may have the right to obtain diversion, which may directly affect several of the YSL members/associates involved in the highly public RICO case. When George Chidi was made aware of the revelation, he was quick to point out its relevancy as it pertains to the indictment that listed Young Thug and Gunna, as well as the negligence on the part of certain law enforcement officials from Fulton County via Twitter.
"Some of the blame here, frankly, lay with Fulton County's state and superior court for failing to move people efficiently through the legal process," Chidi wrote. "They're the ones who are about to get some very hard new questions from me."
Chidi continued with a series of tweets to further explain his foresight on the legal matter.
"But the people who could be diverted out of the jail? Yeah, that's on the sheriff, along with whichever agency locked them up. Given the conditions - which are insane - there should have been a full-court-press to identify those folks. That didn't happen because of staffing," he added.
"When I say "insane," I mean that one of the #YSL guys was caught in a drop-ceiling with a contraband cell phone and a charger a few months ago (looking at you, Nard.) I mean that a sheriff's deputy told me that unsupervised prisoners dug a hole through the walls, Shawshank style," wrote Chidi in a follow-up message.
Chidi also touched on the simmering feud between Playboi Carti, Future (their associates in the Henxhmen gang), and a fellow Bloods gang known as Homixide, before making it clear that he was not indicating their involvement in any criminal activity regarding the matter at hand.
Chidi has been documenting this case from the start; scroll up to take a look his the tweets regarding the latest development.
