In the wake of the extremely personal back-and-forth feud between Charleston White and T.I., the latter took to social media with a heartfelt soliloquy expressing his disappointment with his community for failing to come to his defense, in the same manner, that his family has throughout the state of Georgia with several acts of philanthropy. Upon releasing the emotional video clip, it became very apparent that the insults and threats made by Charleston White about T.I., his wife, and his second youngest son, King Harris, took on toll on the three-time Grammy award winner, from a personal standpoint. Charleston White struck a nerve with T.I. In doing so, he threatened to kill his son, called into question his street credibility, and he made sexual misconduct allegations against him. Several influential voices have shared their thoughts on the recent feud, but very few have drawn a line in the sand and proclaimed their support for T.I. until now.

About 24 hours after the aforementioned Instagram post from T.I., the Altana-based rapper received a strong showing of support from one of the most prominent voices regarding civil rights and social justice issues, Shaun King. The award-winning writer with heavy ties to Atlanta, Georgia, is admittedly a friend of T.I. So, not only did he defend the "No Mediocre" rapper, but he also called for Charleston White to be banished from social media due to his scathing verbiage.

"I need to speak on this, because it’s the right thing to do and because Tip has been a friend to me in hard times. For years," Shaun wrote. ⁣

"Some cowardly man called himself making public death threats against TI’s teenage son, King. He started targeting King and somebody else’s son for clout. I won’t even repeat the vile and violent words this shameful man put out there, but I will say these 3 things:⁣

1. Leave people’s kids alone. You’ve crossed a damn red line when you start attacking people’s kids. Period. You run the risk now of causing some serious trouble for yourself and for others. It’s a line you don’t cross, a code. ⁣

2. The Internet has people so hungry for fame and attention that they will do ANYTHING to get it. It’s shameful. And it’s dangerous. For everybody. ⁣

3. Social media companies need to ban people for making death threats and targeting and harassing people’s kids. This ain’t free speech. ⁣

And we all need to do a better job of having each other’s back."
