Jada Pinkett Smith was at the center of a controversial moment involving her husband, Will Smith, and Chris Rock, with Will Smith publicly slapping Rock while on the Oscars stage over comments the show host made about Pinkett. The couple took time to move away from the spotlight for a second and recalibrate, and now Jada revealed she is releasing a new memoir detailing her relationship with Smith and the late Tupac Shakur.

Jada Pinkett Smith and Tupac Shakur’s relationship with one another has been the subject of much speculation, although Jada has adamantly noted they were only good friends. The memoir touches on the “rollercoaster ride from the depths of suicidal depression to the heights of personal rediscovery,” according to a statement from the publisher.

The ‘Red Table Talk’ host will reportedly go in-depth on growing up in Baltimore, how she and Will Smith formed a relationship that transformed into marriage, and her storied friendship with Tupac. Via a statement for the untitled memoir, the publisher said, “In crisis at age 40, Jada recounts the excruciating choices she was forced to make to redefine her life in every way.”
