Eric Weinberg, the Hollywood producer/screenwriter best known for his work on the heralded television series, "Scrubs," has been charged with sexual penetration by use of force, four counts of oral copulation, three counts of forcible rape, assault by means of force likely attempted sexual penetration by use of force, false imprisonment by violence, and more. The announcement was made by the Los Angeles County District Attorney, George Gascón.

“The defendant relied on his position of influence to lure young women for photo shoots where he allegedly sexually assaulted them,” said Gascón in a press conference Wednesday. “We will hold anyone who commits such acts accountable no matter what your job is, your wealth, or your privilege,” he promised.

Overall, Weinberg faces 18 sexual assault charges, and they allegedly stem from victimizing five different women from 2014 to 2019. In addition, more than a dozen other women have also made registered allegations about the 61-year-old to local authorities; their complaints will be reviewed by the D.A.

Weinberg was released on $5 million bail two days ago. He will appear in court on October 26th.
