Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has been very critical of the NBA along with players in the league like LeBron James, Draymond Green, and Kyrie Irving. Now, the legendary basketball player has delivered more words toward Irving.
Abdul-Jabbar called out Kyrie Irving via an article on SubStack, speaking about the player’s influence on young kids. Kareem fired off some thoughts, one being, “Kyrie Irving would be dismissed as a comical buffoon if it weren’t for his influence over young people who look up to athletes.”
The legendary player went on to say, “When I look at some of the athletes who have used their status to actually improve society—Colin Kaepernick, LeBron James, Muhammad Ali, Bill Russel, Billie Jean King, Arthur Ashe, and more—it becomes clear how much Irving has tarnished the reputations of all athletes who strive to be seen as more than dumb jocks.” As of now, Kyrie Irving has yet to respond.
