For the first time in about a decade, the Miami Dophins find themselves as early contenders in the AFC after jumping out to a 3-0 start. However, the success of the team like many other NFL franchises, hinges on the health of their quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

But in Miami's upset win over the Buffalo Bills last Sunday, Tua went down with what many suspected was a concussion only to somehow pass protocol to resume play. Fast forward to Thursday night, the Dolphins are playing the Cincinnati Bengals when Tua is sacked in the second quarter and suffers what could be his second concussion in four days.

Tua's head slammed against the field causing both head and neck trauma. The former Alabama standout was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital. Reports say Tua flew back to Miami with the team which is a good sign and will be evaluated further upon the team's return home.

The NFLPA's Demaurice Smith said in a message to Andrew Whitworth (a former NFLPA player rep) and Richard Sherman (a member of the NFLPA executive committee): “We insisted on these rules to avoid exactly this scenario. We will pursue every legal option, including making referrals against the doctors to licensing agencies and the team that is obligated to keep our players safe.”
