According to reports, a 15-year-old girl and her fugitive father are both dead after a shootout with police along a California highway on Tuesday.
Authorities say Savannah Graziano ran toward San Bernardino County sheriffs in tactical gear as sheriffs shot at her father, Anthony John Graziano, who is wanted for the murder of Savannah’s mother.
It hasn't been disclosed whether the shots that fatally struck Savannah came from officers or her father during the exchange.
“There may be some indications that the passenger of the vehicle which we believe is Savannah may have been involved in some of the fire exchange,” Sheriff Shannon Dicus said at a Tuesday presser where he called the case “highly complex.”
“There may be some information that the passenger was involved in firing back at the deputies and we’re still trying to confirm that at this point.”
Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital where she was later pronounced dead. Her father was pronounced dead at the scene. Graziano had been on the run for several days after allegedly murdering his wife Tracy Martinez.
