Ari Lennox recently sat down for an interview with The Breakfast Club, where she spoke about dating guys who later revealed that they were rappers.
Around the 15:35 mark in the above video, Angela Yee asked Ari about guys who weren't upfront with her about being rappers. She revealed that the guys would ask her to pass along their music to J.Cole, who signed Lennox to his Dreamville label, and Ari went on to respond to questions about the guys actually being decent rappers. Ari stated, "I will never be able to trust that you genuinely wanna be here for me, and not try to get Cole, or, you know, Dreamville or Interscope."
Ari explained that there were "so many" of these kinds of guys in the past, and she added, "Like, they just won’t say it till like, you like them. And it's just like, 'Well, I'm 'bout to go to the studio.' What?! Why—like, when, what studio?"
