DJ Vlad sparked a debate on Twitter on Sunday (September 11) night after sharing his thoughts about people who play video games for long periods of time.
He wrote, "As an adult, playing video games for long periods of time is a form of depression. If you don't believe me, ask yourself this. Think about the 100 greatest moments of your life. Do any of those moments include video games? Probably not. And this comes from a lifetime gamer."
Vlad then clarified, "Well that escalated quickly. Just to clarify, this doesn’t apply to E-Gamers or people who have turned gaming into a career. This isn’t about someone who plays a few hours a week. This is about people who consistently devote a double-digit percentage of their lives to gaming."
DJ Vlad's tweet went viral, with people both supporting and opposing his statement, including Kevin Durant, who commented on the VladTV Instagram post that he could "argue that gaming is beneficial for mental health." When one person questioned how it's beneficial, Durant responded, "nowadays its a new activity to do with the homies."
