When Jake Paul knocked out former Tyron Woodley a year after defeating his UFC brethren Ben Askren via TKO, it put the world on burn notice. Jake Paul's 5-0 record as a celebrity boxer meant that his knockout power in the ring had to be taken seriously. He turned Woodley's lights out, and he did the same thing to Nate Robison. From that point on, back in December of 2021, sports television personalities such as Stephen A. Smith, Max Kellerman, and Shannon Sharpe raised expectations for the actor-turned-celebrity boxer and challenged him to take on a professional boxer. So, Paul tried twice. But Tommy Fury backed out of an agreement to fight him in July, and Hasim Rahman Jr. did the same one month later. Now, Paul had set his sights on perhaps the greatest UFC champion of all time, Anderson Silva. The 47-year-old will reportedly step into the ring against Paul on October 29th for a star-studded match-up that will attract lots of pre-game hype and attention from the sports media. Although Anderson Silver is known for his reign as the former UFC Middleweight Champion, he transitioned to a boxing career last year, where his record now stands at 2-0.

When Jake Paul's nemesis, Dana White, caught wind of the fight, even he tipped the cap the 5-0 celebrity boxer for taking on what appears to be the biggest challenge of his career so far.

“I don’t give a sh*t, do you know what I mean?” The UFC President said. “If he’s really fighting Anderson Silva, and that’s true, it’s about time he’s got a real fight on his hands there. Regardless of how old Anderson is, yeah, that’s a real fight.”

Anderson Silva's last boxing match was against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. As of now, no location has been determined for the Paul-Silva fight this October.
