Famed talk show host Tavis Smiley came through for his first-ever VladTV interview, where he started off opening up to Shawn Prez about his humble beginnings and growing up as one of ten kids in a strictly religious family. During the conversation, Tavis spoke about his friend, Denver Smith, being shot by police, which led Tavis into advocacy and politics. This led Tavis to speak about working for former Bloomington, Indiana Mayor Tomilea Allison, and former L.A. Mayor Tom Bradley. From there, Tavis spoke about getting his start in radio in L.A., and he went on to detail hosting BET Tonight. Tavis then detailed his friendship with Prince and Bill Clinton, who he interviewed on his show, and Tavis also spoke about his departure from BET.
