Update 08/12/2022 3:59pm:

Video footage recently surfaced of Marshawn Lynch being forcibly removed from his car during a traffic stop that led to his arrest. Now, reports claim Lynch told Las Vegas police he was driving a car he stole.

Vegas PD said Lynch “would speak and then fall back asleep several times throughout the encounter. The report states that Lynch had on one shoe and officers ‘a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from the vehicle.’” Along with that, police say, “Lynch stated that he was not drinking and he does not do drugs, but that he stole the vehicle.”

An officer said, “Lynch was not cooperative or willing to comply with the search warrant. Corrections officers from the City of Las Vegas had to use a restraint chair to force a blood draw.” Lynch’s arrest came an hour and a half after Lynch refused to get out of the car.

Update 08/10/2022 4:04pm:

Less than 24 hours after being arrested by the LVMPD for driving under the influence in Las Vegas, more evidence has surfaced regarding the incident involving former Super Bowl champion Marshawn Lynch.

According to reports, the 2020 Shelby GT500 that he was operating at the time of the traffic stop was practically undrivable. Photos obtained by TMZ Sports display the car's front left wheel with a damaged rim and no tire. The iconic Seattle Seahawks running back reportedly left a trail of damage behind him, on the sidewalk and nearby curbs, before pulling his vehicle over around 5:30am.

This incident marks the second high-profile DUI arrest of an ex-NFL player in less than a year. Last November, Henry Ruggs III of the Las Vegas Raiders was arrested for DUI and reckless driving. Lynch is due in court regarding the aforementioned incident this December.
