Update 08/03/2022 3:49pm:
After being arrested over the weekend for a litany of crimes that include rape and false imprisonment, a judge recently ruled that the Lousiana-based rapper Mystikal shall remain behind bars without bail. In addition to being denied temporary release, the 52-year-old rapper is reportedly being kept in the general population, despite his celebrity status in his home state.
“He didn’t show the victim any sympathy, and he won’t get any sympathy or special treatment,” said Donovan Jackson, a representative from the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office. “He will be in general population and incarcerated like anyone else.”
As the charges continue to pile against Mystikal, the odds against his freedom and safety have become all the more daunting.
“We’re extremely disappointed that the judge decided he needed to hold Mr. Tyler without bond,” stated the rapper's lawyer, Roy Maughan. For now, all he can do is bid his time until his day in court.

Yesterday, it was revealed Mystikal was arrested and charged with first-degree rape. The rapper was booked into the Ascension Parish jail on Sunday, where he could be held until his trial. Now, bond for the rapper has been denied by a judge.
More information surfaced about his arrest, with the Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office saying police responded to a local hospital where they met with the alleged victim. The person claimed they sustained injuries from the alleged sexual assault. The spokesperson said, “The victim did meet him at his home and there was some discussion about finances potentially. And from there, that conversation went very far left and it’s what led to the situation where he assaulted that victim. And then, he did eventually force her to give him some money. So, we know that he did know her, and it did transpire at his home.” Stay tuned for updates.
