There is never a dull moment in the life of Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat. His blue-collar worth ethic and never-say-die approach to winning basketball games during the NBA's memorable "post-season in the bubble" back in 2020 have made him a fan favorite ever since. The six-time NBA All-Star has also provided the public with a fair share of off-the-court controversies, such as beefing with the front office personnel of his former teams in Chicago, Minnesota, and Philadelphia. He's also been known to engage in a face-to-face encounter with a teammate or two from time to time. This is a notion that Kyle Lowry may want to keep in mind the next time he sees his backcourt mate in person. Because in a recent interview with Vince Carter on The VC Show, Lowry playfully joked about Butler's new hairdo, long flowing dreads that seemingly rather excessively grew overnight.

"You mentioned Jimmy," Carter said as he snickered under his breath with a smile on his face. "Jimmy and his braids!"

"New braids or dreadlocks?" Replied Lowry in a joking manner. "Did you see them?"

"I heard about them, but I haven't seen them yet," Carter replied

"My man, my dawg, my brother," Lowry said. "I talked to him on Tuesday and said...bruh c'com...If anybody knows Jimmy, Jimmy's gonna do whatever the f*ck he wants to do. You ever seen Dreamgirls? Jimmy got soul...Jimmy, do you bro."

While Lowry only appeared to be joking about his teammate's new hairdo, several users jumped into the comment section where the video clip of this interview was posted on Instagram by The VC Show just to roast Butler's new look. Many of them accused Butler of getting hair extensions because his hair didn't appear to be that long when the Miami Heat last played a nationally televised game, during the Eastern Conference Finals, back on May 29th.

"Nobody's feeling them extensions only Jimmy's feeling it," said one user.

"Jimmy really let me down with this sh*t smh," added another user.

"I just hope he is back to regularly scheduled business by the time the season gets underway. I can't see him seriously playing with all that mess on his head," stated yet another critic of Butler's new look.

Although it seems fairly obvious, the world may never know for sure if Butler has hair extensions on his head or not, but one thing that cannot be debated is his desire to win a championship and his nonchalant attitude in the face of outside criticism. So, being the butt of a few jokes about his new hairdo likely won't faze the 32-year-old one bit.
