According to reports, a North Carolina woman was arrested after allegedly setting fire to a house that she thought belonged to her ex-boyfriend.

The homeowner was awaken by a neighbor who alerted him that a woman was attempting to set his house on fire last Friday. The suspect, Christie Louise Jones, reportedly burned "pieces of wood encircling a propane tank on his front porch" and "allegedly used Flex Seal to block it."

Jones was later confronted by the homeowner armed with his rifle. He told authorities "she just mumbled" when he asked her why she set his house ablaze. However, when police arrived, a witness revealed that Jones's ex-boyfriend owns property in the neighborhood and she apparently targeted the wrong home in her revenge plot.

She was charged with first-degree arson and assault with a deadly weapon among other charges. Investigators estimate that Jones caused roughly $20,000 worth of damage to the house.
