Previously, Ray J and Princess Love were seen reuniting at the BET Awards, seemingly looking happy. However, it appears Princess Love has requested that the divorce between the two proceed.
It was noted Princess requested the court set a trial date to discuss divorce, division of property, child support, child custody, visitation, and attorney fees. This is the couple’s third attempt at divorcing one another. In October 2021, Ray J filed for divorce from Princess while he was hospitalized with pneumonia.
According to Radar Online, Ray J is demanding that Princess’ right to spousal support be terminated, highlighting a premarital agreement they both signed. The singer also asked that his earnings from before and during their marriage be awarded to him. Princess reportedly requested spousal support and joint legal and physical custody of their two kids. Ray J has reportedly filed for divorce from Princess Love, for a second time, while hospitalized with pneumonia.
Divorce documents were filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court Wednesday, marking the third time the couple has filed for divorce. Princess Love originally filed for divorce in May 2020. However, Ray J filed to end the marriage in September 2020, just months after the couple reconciled.
The divorce comes as Ray J battles pneumonia. The singer was hospitalized this past weekend and was placed in the hospital's COVID wing as doctors feared he contracted the virus. After testing negative five times, the 40-year-old was moved out of the COVID wing.
Despite avoiding the COVID-19 virus, Ray J claims he's still struggling to breathe and is on oxygen. He's hopeful that he'll be released from the hospital by the end of the week.
Neither Ray J nor Princess Love has issued a statement on their impending divorce. The couple shares a daughter and a son.
