In a tragically ironic twist of "life imitating art," a crew member from the critically acclaimed police crime television series known as Law and Order: Organized Crime recently became the victim of a real-life drive-by shooting while on set in Brooklyn, New York, this past Tuesday. According to reports, the incident occurred around 5:30 am while a parking enforcement worker named Johnny Pizarro (31) was sitting in his vehicle. Suddenly, an unidentified gunman driving a red sedan pulled up on Pizarro out of nowhere and unleashed a bevy of gunfire. The shooter hit Pizarro several times in his neck and head moments before Law and Order was set to resume filming on the block. Pizzaro was pronounced dead within 60 minutes of the tragic shooting. He was pronounced dead at NYC Health + Hospitals / Woodhull.
When news of the shooting broke, a spokesperson representing NBC and Universal Television released the following statement.
"We were terribly saddened and shocked to hear that one of our crew members was the victim of a crime early this morning and has died as a result," the spokesperson said. "We are working with local law enforcement as they continue to investigate. Our hearts go out to his family and friends, and we ask that you respect their privacy during this time."
So far, no arrests have been made regarding this incident. Although local authorities have revealed that the perpetrator was wearing black pants and a dark-colored hoodie. The victim was the father of six children.
