NBA YoungBoy was found not guilty of a felony gun-possession charge on Friday (July 15) in a case stemming from a 2021 high-speed chase in Tarzana, California.

Prosecutors alleged a gun was recovered from the floorboard of his Mercedes-Benz during the incident, but YoungBoy's lawyer argued that the rapper didn't know the gun was in his vehicle and he panicked when police attempted to pull him over. His attorneys also argued that YoungBoy's fingerprints weren't found on the gun.

The trial began on Wednesday, and YoungBoy scored an early victory after U.S. District Judge R. Gary Klausner ruled to exclude the use of his lyrics as evidence.

Despite this legal victory, NBA YoungBoy is still facing weapons charges in Louisiana after being arrested along with 16 others during a music video shoot in 2020.
