Conway The Machine opened up about his issues with Funk Flex after stating that the famed New York DJ is a gatekeeper who should step aside for a younger generation.

During a recent Instagram Live session, Conway explained that his issues stem from Funk Flex's comment about Griselda during a sit-down on Wallo and Gillie Da Kid’s Million Dollaz Worth of Game podcast. Conway stated, "N***as sent me a video of Flex and Wallo with Gillie and them n***as, and Wallo was on that n***a body like, ‘Yo, what about them Griselda n***as? [Flex] was like, ‘Yo, I f**k with them n***as, I like what they doing, but it ain’t my vibe, I don’t listen to that sh*t. I don’t listen to it, personally.’"

Conway added, "My premise is like… bro, you Funk Flex, my n***a! Why you have to do that, bro? Y’all n***as bring us up, bro. Not even us — artists everywhere, but y’all sh*t on n***as. You don’t know what that sh*t could potentially do, y’all opinions and sh*t like that. Keep that sh*t to yourself, bruh."

Conway also clarified, "It was never a shot at Hot 97 or DJs in New York. I f*** with a lot of them DJ n***as and they’ve been f**king with me since the beginning … Like my n***a Statik [Selektah], Sway, Ron Mills, Gray Rizzy, Lord Sear, Peter Rosenberg, Ebro, Megan Ryte, DJ Clue, Superstar Jay. Man, I could name a gang of them n***as."

This comes after Funk Flex responded to Conway's initial statement, where he suggested that Conway's career has peaked. Flex wrote on Instagram, "WASN’T U ON KANYE/DONDA ALBUM? IM GONNA GIVE YOU THE ADVICE PAUL ROSENBERG SHOULD OF GAVE U! YOU’RE A 40 PLUS ‘BARS RAPPER’ SORRY LYRICIST THAT HAS HAD EVERY RESOURCE POSSIBLE! IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH YOUR ‘CAREER’ AS OF TODAY? WITH ALL THEM CO-SIGNS? I THINK U HAVE PEAKED MY GUY? WHAT U THINK (YOUR ONLY GONNA TAKE THIS AS DISRESPECT BECAUSE TRUTH MIGHT BE A BIT MUCH FOR YOU?"
