There are quite a few subplots that tie the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets together. For example, the Hornets originally drafted Kobe Bryant before trading him away to the Lakers for Vlade Divac in 1996. Michael Jordan is the principal owner of the Hornets, while his former coach, Phil Jackson, currently serves as the adviser for the Lakers. The Lakers roster also boasts Scottie Pippen Jr, whose father has been engulfed in a highly publicized beef with Michael Jordan ever since the airing of the critically acclaimed docuseries "The Last Dance." Needless to say, several topics can lead to a heated exchange between a Lakers fan and a Hornets fan. So, when a recent video clip surfaced from a highly contested NBA summer league game between the two franchises, it left viewers scrambling to figure out the origin of the debacle.

The game took place at the Mack and Thomas Center in Las Vegas. It featured a spirited play from Laker's prospect, Scottie Pippen Jr, and it ended with a thrilling buzzer-beater by JT Thor to propel the Hornets to an 89-86 victory after double overtime. But all people seemed to be able to talk about after the game was the fight that brawl that broke out in the stands. Video footage depicts an unidentified man decked out in Lakers gear shortly before he removes his hat and t-shirt while gesturing towards several fans behind him. At some point, his antics began to anger a man who was sitting right next to him because that man would go on land a bevy of roundhouse punches to his noggin, which left him dazed and confused as he lay across the sitting area before other fans could rush in and break them up.

As of now, it is uncertain if any of the individuals involved were arrested or faced disciplinary action. Scroll up to watch the fight.
