Oprah Winfrey recently took to social media and revealed that her father Vernon Winfrey, passed away at 88. Her father was born in 1933 and was a barber who also served as a councilman. Winfrey’s father reportedly passed away on Friday, July 8, due to an illness. He passed away peacefully in his bed, according to her family.
Via Instagram, Oprah posted a video of her father sitting at a party in his backyard, saying, “Less than a week ago, we honored my father in his own backyard.” She continued saying, “He FELT the love and reveled in it until he could no longer speak. Yesterday with family surrounding his bedside, I had the sacred honor of witnessing the man responsible for my life take his last breath.
