Update 07/10/2022 2:35pm:

Previously, body camera footage of rapper Polo G going off on police officers following his album release party surfaced. The footage seemingly made Polo G look like the verbal aggressor in the situation. Still, his lawyer Bradford Cohen has now called out Miami PD for releasing the “heavily redacted” footage.

The Miami Police Department has denied releasing the footage, but Cohen is saying this incident is something he’s never experienced in his decades as a lawyer. Cohen claims the police released “the parts that disparage the defendant.” The lawyer then elaborated, “They didn't show him getting slammed to the ground or the reason why he was pulled over. Of course, they wouldn't show that.”

TMZ reportedly asked Miami PD about the footage, and they noted they DID NOT release the footage. However, Cohen shot back by saying, “I have never seen a department react to their malfeasance by disseminating highly edited disparaging video,” and concluded by calling their leak “childish” before saying that is the reason “a lot of people are losing faith in policing.”

Back in 2021, Chicago rapper Polo G was arrested in Miami following his album release party for his project The GOAT. During his detainment, Polo G was verbally agressive toward officers and only had his charge of resisting an officer without violence dismissed after completing an anger management course. Needless to say, after the release of Polo G's arrest footage it's clear why he needed it.
