Kevin Durant previously requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets, following headlines revealing Kyrie Irving opted into his contract with the team. Rumors have swirled since Durant’s request, with the Golden State Warriors reportedly expressing interest in the former GSW player. Since then, former Warriors teammate Draymond Green has reacted to the trade rumors, seemingly defending Durant.
While on his ‘Draymond Green Show’ podcast, Green talked about players running their careers and not just settling for being basketball players. “People can’t accept the fact that athletes are now businessmen and no longer just playing basketball,” said the Warriors player.
Green then broke down his thoughts, saying, “If Kevin Durant says, I actually don't wanna be here anymore, I wanna go to somewhere else, why does it matter? Why does that make you weak? Why does that make him - means he's running from something? I don't understand that.” Green continued saying, “That's the next step in his career. Again I always go back to saying if someone leaves Google to go to Apple after three or four years, and then they leave Apple after two years to go to Tesla...
