According to reports, Nicki Minaj's husband Kenneth Petty was handed a three-year probation term and one year of home detention for failing to register as a sex offender.

Petty was also ordered to pay $55,000 as part of his sentencing. Prosecutors initially scoffed at the idea of Petty being "punished" with home detention considering that he's living in the lap of luxury in Calabasas, CA. Instead, they wanted Petty to receive 15 months in prison, five years supervised release and the $55,000 in retribution.

The U.S. Attorney's Office also suggested that Petty developed a sense of apathy toward his sex offender registry paperwork after reconnecting with Nicki Minaj. They said the “defendant adopted an affluent lifestyle” and stopped checking in after being responsive and on-time for nearly two decades.
