The ongoing struggle for power between the Mexican government and various drug cartels from their region has become just as fascinating as it is deadly. From dramatic prison breaks to the shocking discovery of massive narcos tunnels underground, the plot twists in this feud have captivated the public's attention for a number of decades. This has inspired critically acclaimed television shows, music, and a litany of admirers who want to join in, whether it's on the side of the law or a local cartel. Now, it appears as though officials within the Mexican government are giving the public an opportunity to experience a little bit of both.

On Tuesday the Mexican government commenced a lottery for members of the general public to enter a raffle in order to win a $4.5 million mansion that was once owned by a former Mexican drug lord named Amado Carrillo Fuentes, (aka El Señor de los Cielos); part of his life story was depicted on season 3 of Narcos: Mexico. Fuentes is widely considered the country's most powerful drug trafficker of the 90s. He reportedly died back in 1997, due to a botched surgical procedure, but many people believe that he actually faked his death.

The nine-bedroom house is located in the Jardines del Pedregal de San Ángel neighborhood of Mexico City. Some of the standout features of the property include an indoor pool, numerous jacuzzis, a bar, a children’s playhouse in the backyard, a wine cellar, a 20-car parking lot, and on-site housing for a live-in security team. Residents of Mexico can participate in the country's national lottery, in order to win this lavish home, for 200 pesos ($10 us dollars).
