Rudy Giuliani claims he was assaulted by a worker at ShopRite in Staten Island, New York, this past Sunday, saying the assault left him “shaken.”

The former New York mayor was leaving the bathroom while at the grocery store when he was greeted by many supporters. While speaking to the people, a man walked by and smacked Giuliani on the back. “All of a sudden, I feel this ‘Bam!’ on my back. I don’t know if they helped me not fall down, but I just about fell down, but I didn’t,” said Giuliani.

The former New York mayor continued, “I feel this tremendous pain in my back, and I’m thinking, what the — I didn’t even know what it was. All of a sudden, I hear this guy say, ‘You’re a f**king scumbag,’ then he moves away so nobody can grab him.” The suspect reportedly yelled out, “You, you’re one of the people that’s gonna kill women. You’re gonna kill women.”

While speaking about the assault on 77 WABC talk radio, Giuliani reportedly said, “You don’t go around attacking people because of it. I mean, go get it changed.” As of now, the suspect is facing assault charges.
