YSL rapper BSlime recently spoke to Young Thug, who is also his uncle, in a call that he posted to his Instagram page.
On Thursday (June 16), BSlime shared a video of the phone call, which he captioned, "MOMENTS🎚 🎥 Free WYDA @thuggerthugger1." The two could be heard chopping it up, and toward the end of the video, Young Thug spit a freestyle about his case and experiences behind bars.
This comes after Gunna released a letter from jail on his 29th birthday. In the letter, he proclaimed, "For now, I don’t have my freedom. But I am innocent. I am being falsely accused and will never stop fighting to clear my name!" Gunna also addressed the "Rap Music on Trial: Protect Black Art" petition started by 300 Entertainment’s Kevin Liles and Atlantic Records’ COO Julie Greenwald, which aims to protect artists against having their lyrics used against them in a trial.
Gunna, Young Thug, and 26 others, including Yak Gotti, Peewee Roscoe, Duke, and Thug’s brother Unfoonk, were also indicted on state charges of participation in street gang activity and conspiring to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act. Bond has been denied for all members, and a trial has been set for January 9, 2023
