On Friday, two-time Grammy Award winner, Justin Bieber, took to social media to announce that he will be canceling his concerts for the time being because half of his face is currently paralyzed. In an emotional video message to his fans, the 28-year-old candidly revealed that the reason he is suffering from facial paralysis is because of a rare neurological disorder called Ramsay Hunt syndrome. According to studies, RHS is triggered by the very same virus that induces chickenpox.

In an Instagram post that has since gone viral Bieber went into great detail about the status of his health, the definition of his medical condition, and the hurdles that he will be facing, from a medical standpoint.

"Hey everyone, Justin here, I wanted to update everyone on what's going on," Bieber said. "As you can see this eye is not blinking. I can't smile on this side of my face; this nostril will not move. So there's full paralysis on this side of my face. So for those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I'm just physically obviously not capable of doing them. This is pretty serious, as you can see. I wish this wasn't the case, but obviously, my body is telling me I gotta slow down. I hope you guys understand and I'll be using this time to rest and relax and get back to a hundred percent so that I can do what I was born to do. But in the meantime, this ain't it. I gotta go get my rest so that I can get my face back to where it's supposed to be. I love you guys. Thanks for being patient with me. I'm gonna get better. I'm doing all of the facial exercises to get my face back to normal and it will go back to normal. [I just need] time and we don't know how much time that's going to be, but it's going to be okay and I have hope and I trust God and I trust that this is all for a reason...I'm not sure what that is right now, but in the meantime, I'm going to rest and I love you guys. Peace."

In response to Bieber's heartfelt revelation, several celebrities, such as Scotter Bruan, Lenny Kravitz, Lil Pump, and Lil Yachty responded in the comment section of the video with supportive comments and emojis. As long as the nature of Bieber's condition isn't too severe and he began treatment for the Ramsey Hunt Syndrome during the early stages of being infected, he should be able to make a full recovery within three weeks.
