The City of Baltimore reportedly will have to pay $300,000 to rapper Young Moose after the rapper claimed police planted drugs on him.
A court settlement laid out the news and noted lawyers for the city reached an agreement with Kevron Evans, also known as Young Moose. The agreement was reached with Evans on May 10. However, city officers will have to vote on its approval this Wednesday.
The lawsuit filed by Evans found him accusing officers of applying warrants based on false allegations. Along with that, they illegally arrested him. The conviction of Evans was vacated by Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby in 2020 after reviewing hundreds of cases involving disgraced and convicted officers from the Gun Trace Task Force.
Baltimore has paid over $10 million to settle lawsuits against officers who serve on a task force that has had many corrupt elements.
