Previously, the courts declared Kanye West and Kim Kardashian “legally single,” but the divorce between the former married couple hasn’t been finalized. West has reportedly gone through a few lawyers, and now it appears his fourth lawyer—Samantha Spector, has filed documents to “step down” as representation for the artist.
Spector previously represented Nicole Young, the ex-wife of Dr. Dre, during their separation. Kanye fired another lawyer named Chris Melcher in March 2022, with docs saying their relationship was “difficult with little communication.” Samantha Spector came in and took over following Melcher’s departure. In the court documents related to Spector stepping down, no reasons were listed for her leaving beyond “an irreconcilable breakdown in the attorney-client relationship.”
As of now, another lawyer for west who doesn’t “specialize in divorce” is set to take over for Spector.
