Undefeated German boxer Musa Askan Yamak died in the ring on Saturday (May 14) after suffering a heart attack during a fight against Ugandan veteran Hamza Wandera in Munich, Germany.
According to reports, Yamak took a heavy blow by Wandera in the second round of the fight, and when he tried to come back in the third round, Yamak dropped in the ring. Medics immediately tended to Yamak, and he was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Hasan Turan, a Turkish official, announced Yamak's death, writing on Twitter, "We lost our compatriot Musa Askan Yamak, a boxer from Alucra, who won European and Asian championships, at a young age after a heart attack."
