A mother from Mississippi named Makaylia Jolley is scheduled to appear in court today, regarding allegations that she repeatedly threw her two-year-old daughter onto a roadway until she fatally passed away.
The incident in question is said to have happened five days ago on 775 N. Bierdeman Road. When local authorities responded to a distress call about the matter, they noticed that Makaylia was gone and that a female bystander was holding the infant victim (Khalysie Jolley). From there, the Pearl Fire Department and Pafford Ambulance Service made attempts to provide medical care to the child but it was to no avail as she was pronounced dead two days later at the Children’s Hospital of Mississippi.
Shortly after the aforementioned incident, the assailant fled the scene on foot and dashed into the woods. But the police managed to flush her out and chase her down after she tried to make her way back to Bierdeman Road, where she was arrested shortly thereafter. Upon her daughter's death, Makaylia was charged with capital murder and felony child abuse. The District Attorney's office is strongly considering the death penalty for Makaylia.
