Young Thug appeared in court on Tuesday for the first time since the rapper was taken into custody on Monday. Thugger is facing a number of charges including a RICO charge as part of a 56-count indictment that saw 28 other YSL associates charged as well. According to the Atlanta police chief, following Young Thug's arrest, they "got one of our top offenders off the street."

It was recently reported that Young Thug was arrested on RICO charges, with Thugger facing a conspiracy to violate RICO, along with participation in street gang activity. The 56-count indictment also implicates Gunna on a conspiracy charge as well. Since then, the lawyer for Young Thug— Brian Steel, has spoken on his client. 

The lawyer gave a statement to the news and said, “I’ll tell you the response to any allegation; Mr. Williams committed no crime whatsoever, and we will fight to my last drop of blood to clear him.” Lawyers for Gunna have yet to come forward and speak on behalf of the rapper, leading to much speculation on what will happen next for the two. According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, rapper Young Thug has been arrested on Monday and charged with conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act and participation in street gang activity.

Young Thug, real name Jeffery Lamar Williams, 30, is facing the RICO Act charge stemming from an alleged offense in January 2013, while the gang activity charge is related to allegations from May 2018.

Video was shared on social media of Young Thug's arrest after authorities raided his Atlanta-area home.
