A video recently went viral of Mike Tyson punching a man named Melvin Townsend repeatedly after the man heckled Tyson on a flight they were both scheduled to fly on. The man was reportedly sitting behind Tyson and constantly asking him questions ahead of the incident. While Townsend suffered some minor injuries, another man who Tyson put his hands on a while ago—a photographer named Tony Vera, says the incident could have been much worse.
Vera was stopped by TMZ and spoke about the 2009 incident he was involved in with Tyson, who hit him in the face. No one was charged in the incident, and Tyson and Vera settled out of court for an undisclosed amount.
When speaking about Townsend, Vera went on to say the man “got lucky.” Vera then noted that Tyson is not the one to play with, seeing as he knows first hand. The photographer went on to say he and Tyson made amends since their incident, but that doesn’t mean Tyson should be tried. Watch above.
