This past Thursday (April 7), 20 alleged Bronx gang members were arrested and named in an 82-count indictment. The indictment reportedly covers 32 violent crimes that went down over three years.

Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark made the announcement and revealed the investigation was titled “Operation Drilly.” Several of the people arrested as part of the indictment are allegedly a part of the “Drilly/G-Side” gang, who are allegedly affiliated with the Bloods Sex Money gang. Authorities claim the people arrested rapped about all of their crimes in various music videos.

Clark spoke on the indictment, saying, “It was senseless violence. It was beefs and slights and disrespects that all drove some of these incidents.” He continued saying, “We’re doing all that we can to deal with and battle the guns scourge that is happening here in the Bronx. But more must be done to deviate these young people from the life of gangs and senseless violence. We do need to do more.” As part of Operation Drilly, police reportedly recovered 18 firearms. Along with that, charges were filed against the people who were apprehended, including grand larceny, assault, manslaughter, attempted murder, and murder. Stay tuned for more updates.
