The ongoing feud between Shannon Sharpe and Antonio Brown seemingly began about three years ago when Brown made a guest appearance on LeBron James' HBO series, The Shop. The seven-time Pro Bowl wide receiver referred to Shannon Sharpe as a "joke" during the taping of his episode and since then, Sharpe has practically made it a point to belittle the troubled 33-year-old whenever his name comes up during a segment of his daily sports debate show, Skip and Shannon: Undisputed.
This morning, Shanon Sharpe dropped a scathing hot take about Antonio Brown's current predicament as a free agent who has yet to fully recover from a lingering ankle injury. When addressing his co-host, Skip Bayless, Shannon Sharpe scoffed at Brown's recent declaration for not waiting to have surgery on his ankle until an NFL team officially signs him to a contract. The Hall of Famer was quick to point out the fact that Brown has had a messy fallout with each of the last three teams that signed him. Therefore, in Sharpe's opinion, AB is very undeserving of another opportunity.
"Skip, the man said, 'I need to get my ankle fixed but I just want to make sure I got an obligation or a commitment from a team, it's a lot for a guy to do surgery without an idea of where you're gonna work,'" said Sharpe as he read a quote from Brown. "Skip, this man says he doesn't know why these guys are getting all these paydays and he can't get a payday. 'I don't know why my value isn't being upheld the same. I don't know why DeVante [Adams] got that money and I can't. I don't know why Tyreek [Hill] got that money and I didn't. I don't know why Allen Robinson and Juju [Smith-Schuster] got $10 million. I don't know why they got those big paydays, but I can't get one."
Sharpe continued: "I need those people that were co-signing AB when he was doing all that bull jive, from Pittsburgh to Oakland, to New England to Tampa. I need ya'll to explain to him, 'AB, bro we love you, but this is the reason why you're not getting that payday ever, ever again.' AB is delusional! There's something seriously wrong AB...AB you've been on four teams in four years and you've gotten released from three of those teams and you don't know why you can't get a payday? Nobody trusts you...Because one thing you've shown [NFL teams] is that if they give you a large chunk of money, you gonna act a fool!"
Antonio Brown has yet to respond to Shannon Sharpe's latest critique. Scroll up to watch Sharpe explain why it is unlikely that AB will ever receive another lucrative contract from an NFL team again.
