In January of last year, a Russian model by the name of Gretta Vedler took to Instagram to voice her displeasure with Vladimir Putin in an epic rant that went viral.

"Given the fact that Putin went through a lot of humiliation in [his] childhood, he could not stand up for himself due to his [slight] physical form, it is not surprising that he left after law school and joined the KGB," Vedler said. "Such people are timid and fearful from childhood, afraid of noise and darkness, strangers, so traits such as caution, restraint, and lack of communication are developed early in their character."

The outspoken model went missing one month after posting her video online and she was never heard from again. A year after Vedler's disappearance, a new update confirms that the model lost her life although her anti-Putin rant and death do not appear to be related.

According to a police report, Vedler's ex-boyfriend, Dimitry Korovin, recently confessed to strangling her to death shortly after her anti-Putin video went viral. Upon killing his ex-girlfriend, the 23-year-old assailant slept with the corpse for three nights in their hotel room, while making several social media posts on her behalf, in order to make people think that she was still alive. Afterward, Korovin stuffed Vedler's severed body parts into a suitcase and drove 300 miles away from the crime scene to the Lipetsk region of Russia, where he vacated the evidence.

Korovin may very well have gotten away with murder had he elected not to ask a friend named Evgeniy Foster, who is a blogger from Ukraine, to file a missing person's report for Vedler. The missing person's report eventually led back to Korovin's arrest.

Details about Dimitry Korovin's detainment are scarce at the moment, so stay tuned for more on this case.
