A Chicago man named Scott Mattison was gunned down from point-blank range immediately following a road rage incident and a heated verbal exchange on the side of the road. Dashcam footage captured the 46-year-old father of two hopping out of his blue Ford pickup truck to confront the suspect, Johnathan Mejia, in his Ford sedan.
Moments after sticking his arm into the car window on the driver's side of the vehicle, Mattison appears to be shot as he falls to the ground in agony. The tragic shooting took place at approximately 5:30 pm, Mattison died shortly thereafter.
Johnathan Mejia has since been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon. The 18-year-old perpetrator was scheduled to appear at the Cook Country Circut Court in Rolling Meadows, Illinois today.
