Diddy's Making The Band show on MTV was a point in early 2000s pop culture history, with groups like Da Band, Danity Kane, Day26 being created during the show.

While some people would consider the show to be a success for giving the artists a platform to boost their careers. However, Day26 member Willie Taylor feels like the contracts and platform were "set up for the failure of hungry artists."

In a since-deleted post, Taylor explained, "Learning Experience, you gotta Understand that People will do to you whatever you allow them, so don’t let your passion drive you to the wrong destination #MTB4 Day26 / Danity Kane are talented groups but the situation in which we met was designed to fail."

Diddy has yet to respond to Taylor's post, but back in 2019, he was speaking about wanting to bring the show back. In a video posted online, Diddy stated, "It’s not just about America and America’s music. It’s about everybody’s voice. So we’re doing a global talent search." This came right before the global pandemic, and it's unclear whether Diddy is still moving forward with the reboot.
