Update 03/01/2022 1:29pm:

In January 2022, Dame Dash noted that ‘Paid in Full 2’ started filming, saying the production was shooting in Newark, New Jersey at the moment. This came after the mogul expressed interest in filming the sequel a year before. Now, Dash has given more insight into the film while speaking to Shannon Sharpe.

The first movie ended with Cam’Ron’s ‘Rico’ character being sent to prison. The ending lines from Rico found him making it seem as if he would be back on the streets soon, which left room for an appearance in a future film. However, Dash has shut down the idea of anyone from the first film appearing in the sequel.

When Shannon Sharpe asked Dame if any of the original cast members were going to appear in ‘Paid in Full 2,’ Dash shot back by saying, “They’re too old.” He continued saying, “They’re all 50 now. We’re going to make Cocoon: Paid In Full? It’ll be what? Paid In Full: Nursing Home? They’re too old to play young characters.” In a previous interview, Dash explained the next movie would be based on “perspectives that people don’t know,” saying, “We chose three, really one. Now I’m showing all perspectives.” Watch above.

In 2021, Damon Dash expressed interest in creating ‘Paid in Full 2.’ Dash revealed the news following the death of Alpo Martinez in Harlem, which the first movie was based on. Now, Dash has revealed filming for ‘Paid in Full 2’ has started in Newark, New Jersey.

While speaking to AllHipHop, Dash said, “It’s what happens after [they] put all that work on the street, and somebody had to get that money back.” He continued explaining what happened, saying, “There’s a lot of perspectives that people don’t know. We chose three, really one. Now I’m showing all perspectives.”

The Roc-A-Fella Records mogul spoke about who will appear, saying, “So you’ll see a perspective from the stickup kids at the time, see a perspective of the younger dudes, I was a younger dude, the 16-year-olds. You’ll see perspectives from Kevin Childs, Jay Black, everybody, Lou Simms. It’s going to be off the hook. Trust me. A lot of other little stories will be told.” News of this comes after Cam’Ron spoke about ‘Paid in Full,’ saying the talks about the sequel started.
