Last year, Steph Curry’s parents—Dell and Sonya Curry, filed for divorce after 30 years of marriage. The couple was initially quiet, but both came out and accused each other of cheating. When the news surfaced, Steph Curry remained quiet. Now, the NBA star has broken his silence.

During an interview with The Ringer, Curry was candid about their split. “I could be mad and be like, ‘Y’all effed this up.’ I could have that approach,” said Curry. He continued saying, “But it’s going to be an acknowledgment of both of y’all in terms of how y’all raised me. The calmness I have in myself is because of y’all.”

Curry talked about what the dynamic was like between both of his parents, saying he had to navigate it during his record-breaking three-point shot at Madison Square Garden in December 2021. Following his shot, Steph said, “I had to make sure I was in that moment with both of them separately, and this wasn’t just this whole kind of thing. That is how I choose to approach that. Because it is challenging.” Steph then revealed he met up with his pops on the court right after the shot, then went to meet his mom in an MSG tunnel to hug her.
