Over the years, comedian and actor Mo’Nique has been very vocal about her dealings with peers like Oprah and Tyler Perry, who she claims worked to have her blackballed from the entertainment industry. Mo’Nique went on to call out Oprah for making her “life harder” at one point, and now the ‘Queen of Comedy’ has spoken candidly on Tyler Perry.

During an interview with Ts Madison on Fox Soul, Mo’Nique claims that Tyler Perry agreed to meet with her, but that she couldn’t bring her husband along, and that she had to issue an apology for saying her career moved in a different direction due to his and Oprah’s say.

Mo’Nique said she passed on the meeting, saying, “See, I can give you their names: Eartha Kitt, I can give you their names: Hazel Scott, I can give you their names: Fannie Lou Hamer, I can give you their names: Hattie McDaniel. All of those women took a stand. And all of those women left here heartbroken, unhealthy, looking at a community saying, ‘You know I’m right, but why won’t anybody say anything?'” Mo’Nique then expressed that she has love for Perry, Oprah, and Lee Daniels before referring to having a private recording of Tyler Perry apologizing for blackballing the comedian.
