Despite having a limited body of music available to the public, Jay Electronica has been pinpointed as a purveyor of sharp lyricism and detailed storytelling in hip hop. The rapper has recently been using social media to speak on different sounds he’s come across and recently revealed a Drake song that he felt impacted by.
Drake dropped his ‘Certified Lover Boy’ album in September 2021, and the album has been making waves since then. One track that stood out to Jay Elec was “Champagne Poetry.” Via Twitter, the rapper said, “For Drake’s bars on Champagne Poetry alone, his face gets carved in the pyramids.” News of this comes after Jay Electronica previously revealed text messages between him and Kanye West, alluding to him working on 'Donda 2.'
