According to Aaliyah's uncle and former talent manager, Barry Hankerson, the deceased R&B crooner will be dropping her first posthumous album since her passing nearly 20 years ago. The man responsible for introducing Aaliyah to R. Kelly, recently revealed that Unstoppable will be released sometime this January.

In an interview with Geno Jones, the co-founder of Blackground Records said that his label is in possession of some of the late singer's finest work and they will be rolling it out with the help of some heavy hitters in the music industry, like Drake, Future, Snoop Dogg, and more.

“About five years ago we realized we had quite a bit of music that we had never put out that was recorded by Aaliyah,” Hankerson said. “The vocals were there, and we decided to try to remaster it and to ask other artists that were big fans of her if they would like to participate in being on various songs.”

Although Barry Hankerson's record label still owns the masters to Aaliyah's music, he is no longer on speaking terms with Aliyah's mother or the late singer's estate.
