When it comes to the handling of the coronavirus, former President Donald Trump has had somewhat of a rocky relationship with his constituents in the Republican Party. When the pandemic shutdowns first began, during a litany of contagion spikes, he publicly denounced the notion of wearing a mask and protocols that had been suggested by his former Chief Medical Advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci. Hence, several of his political supporters followed suit, including media tycoon Candace Owens.

The multimedia journalist has taken to the airwaves and social media on numerous occasions to sway the public away from mask-wearing and the idea that vaccines work. In a Facebook post dated September 10, Candace Owens wrote the following:

"Who the hell does Joe Biden think he is? Earlier today Biden announced that he is going to use the full weight of the federal government to mandate that all companies with 100+ employees FORCE their workers to be vaccinated or subject themselves to weekly COVID testing. If ever there was a time for civil disobedience, it's now. We must not bend a knee to this tyrannical, dictatorial order from Joe Biden (or whomever is pulling his strings). As you all know, my family and I have made the personal decision not the receive the COVID vaccine. That is our God given RIGHT. Joe Biden has no business trying to force Americans to inject a substance into their arms against their will."

The host of "The Candace Owens Show" on The Daily Wire has remained steadfast in her stance, but it appears as though Donald Trump has changed his tune. This year, the forty-fifth president of the United States has repeatedly encouraged his supporters to take the vaccine. He's even dubbed the anti-virus medication as the "Trumpcine." Claiming that it was his administration that initiated the formation of the drug.

In a guest appearance on "The Candace Owens Show," Donald Trump did not hesitate to offer pushback against the business owner whose company (The Blexit Foundation) accepted a $350,000 donation from him nearly one year ago.

"The vaccines work. But some people are the ones -- the ones who get very sick and go to the hospital are the ones that don't take the vaccine. But it's still their choice. And if you take the vaccine, you're protected,” said Trump. "Look, the results of the vaccine are very good, and if you do get it, it's a very minor form. People aren't dying when they take the vaccine."

It has been speculated that Donald Trump's initial handling of the COVID-19 pandemic contributed to him losing the presidential election to Joe Biden, last year. But with talk of the 75-year-old running for re-election in 2024, it seems that he may adhere to public opinion when it comes to some of the vaccine mandates that he once denounced.
