Fetty Wap reflected on his meteoric run, in 2015, during his recent sit-down interview on DJ Akademiks' Off the Record podcast. When discussing his string of hit singles, the New Jersey rapper talked about receiving a major cosign by getting a Drake remix for "My Way." However, Fetty revealed that the remix caused a rift between him and the rap superstar.

During the chat, Fetty Wap explained that he didn't want his verse on the Drake remix and preferred that the single be a setup for fellow Remy Boyz rapper Monty. However, after sending the record to Drake, Fetty was left feeling "played" when the artist's team allegedly did not send back his verse and credited Fetty as the main artist instead of Monty.

"That was Monty's breakthrough record," he said. "When we first did the record, I asked [Drake], 'Yo, could you just take my verse off and keep Monty up there and just leave me on the hook?' The first and last time I ever spoke to him is when he asked me to get on the song and that was it. I haven't even seen him in person yet."

Fetty Wap also admitted to possibly looking ungrateful for Drake's contribution by not including Drake's version on his album. He added that since collaborating on "My Way," he has not heard from Drake since.

"I reached out to [Drake] maybe like 2019 I hit him and nothing," he continued before Ak asked him if Drake felt he was ungrateful. "Probably, most likely. Then, when I didn't put it on the album, he was probably like, 'Who the f*** this n**** think he is?'"

The hit single eventually became another top 10 hit for Fetty Wap and has since been certified 3x-platinum.
