Hit-Boy recently spoke to DJ Akademiks for his ‘Off The Record’ podcast, and the storied producer spoke on some of his biggest productions for artists like Travis Scott, Kanye West, and more. While speaking on Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode,” Hit-Boy revealed that he played the beat for Jay-Z, who wanted the track at first.
Hit-Boy went on to say, “I don't promise beats my n***a. When I get paid, that's who gets the beat.” The producer then noted that Travis Scott had the beat for two years before releasing the track. Following the release, Hov reportedly came back about the song. Hit-Boy went on to say, “You're not going to Saks Fifth, you're not going to Neiman Marcus and being like, 'Cool I'm about to get a few outfits I'm finna wear these s**ts out, I'mma think about paying you later,' like, nah. You gotta pay for this sh*t and then it's yours.” Listen above.
