The back-and-forth between Akademiks and Freddie Gibbs could culminate in the two men getting a chance to knock the other one out in a celebrity boxing match.
During his appearance on Million Dollaz Worth Of Game, Akademiks spoke about his openness to a celebrity boxing match between himself and Freddie Gibbs, though he wasn't against fighting another opponent. However, Gibbs called dibs before anyone else could, tweeting "Let's do it," immediately after the clip began circulating.
While on ESPN's Jalen & Jacoby, Gibbs formally accepted the challenge. "I'm training for a fight right now," Gibbs told Jalen Rose and David Jacoby. "DJ Akademiks. I'm a solid 185 (lbs.). DJ Akademiks a soft 204 (lbs.) so I think that we could make that fight happen. He announced it yesterday that he wanted to do a celebrity boxing match. We could donate it to charity."
"I don't want no money. If I win, I just want Akademiks to delete his Instagram and delete his Twitter and leave the rap game," he continued.
Gibbs also made it clear that there's no real beef between himself and Akademiks. But that doesn't mean they like one another as Gibbs indicated when he said, "It ain't a real beef, I'll say that, [...] we can definitely get that celebrity boxing match on and donate it to charity."
