According to reports, Drake has withdrawn his Grammy nominations from contention for Best Rap Album and Best Rap Performance for Certified Lover Boy and "Way 2 Sexy," respectively.

It's not immediately clear why Drake has decided to withdraw the nominations. Still, it comes on the heels of him deciding against submitting anything for the categories of Record of the Year and Song of the Year.

Drake has captured four Grammy awards over the course of his career but famously suggested that winning a Grammy shouldn't be the measure of an artist's worth after being named the winner for Best Rap Song in 2019 with "God's Plan." He also issued a scathing statement calling out the Recording Academy for snubbing The Weeknd in 2021:

"I think we should stop allowing ourselves to be shocked every year by the disconnect between impactful music and these awards and just accept that what once was the highest form of recognition may no longer matter to the artists that exist now and the ones that come after," Drake wrote. "This is a great time for somebody to start something new that we can build up over time and pass on to the generations to come."
