The NBA handed down suspensions to both LeBron James and Isaiah Stewart following Sunday's altercation.
Many believed that LeBron James would avoid a suspension for several reasons, namely because he's "LeBron James," nevertheless, the league suspended LBJ for one game and Stewart for two games. The NBA cited James for "recklessly hitting," while Stewart received two games for "escalating an on-court altercation by repeatedly and aggressively pursuing" LeBron after the initial encounter.
According to ESPN, James will forfeit about $284,000 in salary, while Stewart will lose about $45,000. The suspension will also see LeBron sit out the Lakers' matchup against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Needless to say, this was poor timing on LeBron's part.
